This CD was a hard road to go down, it tells of the most frightening time of my life, the saddest and most uncertain. Many adults thought they were going to die - lots did - with their kids. Its hard to understand why someone wants to kill you when you're a kid. I still remember my desperate want for sweets or chocolate. My stomach still turns at the sound of a siren - sometimes in a storm I think I hear gunfire out at sea - and I still dream of our house falling on us, though it never did. I was lucky and sometimes I was happy. Listen to the clip by clicking on the song title, it will start playing via your usual music player.

This is a song I was asked to write for the anniversary of the Harvey Drain. The Harvey Drain is about 10 miles of 30 feet deep canal, dug mostly by hand in the 1930s as a work creation activity during the depression years. To read more about this visit: Harvey History Online.
